As part of a series of upcoming blogs, here at Forces Money we have opted to initially address your frequently asked questions in order to make the military tax reclaim process even more efficient for our customers.
Form 64-8 is an essential document that is required for us to liaise with HMRC on your behalf in order to ensure a seamless claim process. The form must be completed before we can begin the process of claiming your tax rebate.
In short terms, the 64-8 paperwork directly authorises our company to cooperate with the taxman on your behalf.
Although you have instructed us to oversee the claims process for you and act as your personal intermediary and agent with HMRC, you are wholly responsible for providing factually correct information regarding your accounting affairs.
You can download a 64-8 form “here” and as a member of the armed forces completion can take as little as two minutes, requiring only basic personal information.
One thing to note is that HMRC cannot accept digital signatures and a paper, written signature must be provided.
If you require any additional support when completing your documentation you can contact us directly on 0117 986 1234.
